Trousers guide

In the vast selection of clothing available today, countless garments in various shapes, colors, and fabrics cater to specific needs for different activities. For some, the options can become overwhelming, and it may be difficult to know which garments are suitable for which activities. This also applies to pants, where among the sea of options, one can find training pants, hiking pants, yoga pants, flared pants, and jogging pants. The choice of pants often depends on personal preferences, but it can also be helpful to get an overview of which pants are best suited for the intended tasks.

This pants guide will therefore be great for providing more information on which product you should choose! In addition to this article, we also have a jeans guide that is perfect reading for anyone who finds it challenging to find the perfect jeans.

Training Pants

A legging is often a first choice for many when it comes to completing a workout, but a good training pant is also an excellent alternative. Leggings are typically characterized by a tighter fit on the body and are often a bit thinner than pants, which have a more spacious fit. If the session is to be carried out in a gym, it may be nice to wear garments that are not too thick, but if one is to exercise outdoors, it would be practical to have pants that provide more warmth.

A training pant can be used both as a running pant in the summer while also effectively functioning as a ski pant in the winter. The fabric of our training pants is not overly thick to allow for multiple uses, but with the help of a layer of thermal underwear, the pants can be perfect as cross-country ski pants. Most hiking pants are equipped with practical pockets and drawstrings at the waist, making the garments very functional for outdoor activities.

Yoga Pants

Yoga pants are characterized by their loose fit, often with wide legs to ensure full freedom of movement. Therefore, these pants are often produced seamless and with thin fabric. Yoga pants are made for yoga and other low-intensity training but are also appreciated by many as everyday pants. The pants are often black, stylish, and very versatile. This makes them easy to style with anything from training tops to knitted turtlenecks.

Flared Pants

A significant trend in the market today is flared pants. These pants come in various forms, including loungewear flared pants. Flared pants with splits are a variant that is also very popular among Norwegian women today, particularly for jeans. In the broad spectrum of flared pants, these can be used for training or day-to-day wear, with the fabric determining which use is best suited for the garment.

Flare pants are well-liked as the fit provides a nice silhouette. The pants are often high-waisted and wide at the legs, giving a better illusion of lovely shapes and making one appear taller — something many girls appreciate.

Jogging Pants

In addition to the soft velour loungewear pants, we offer several different variants of jogging pants. Comfortable pants are always something you need and can be used both for training and everyday wear. Famme has jogging pants in classic colors, making them easy to style with various hoodies and crewnecks.

How you wish to complete the look will help determine what activities the outfit should be used for. The fit of the pants is also a deciding factor - whether the jogging pants are baggy or fitted. If one is to spend the day at home, jogging pants can be easily matched with a hoodie, and at the gym, it can be nice to combine jogging pants with a training top so the body breathes better during the session.

Dress Pants

When you want to dress up a bit more, it’s nice to have a dress pant available. Just like most pants, this can be styled according to what you are doing, and by wearing a crewneck over, the dress pant can also be used for daily wear. If you’re going out to dinner with friends or heading out to the city, a dress pant is also a great alternative, and you can then style the pants with a nice top and some jewelry.

Dress pants are mostly in neutral, stylish colors such as black and white. This greatly increases the options for matching with other garments. A white dress pant can therefore be reused repeatedly by just changing the top - sustainable and affordable!

Hiking Pants

If you’re going on a long hike, it may be nice to have a hiking pant that withstands the elements and is thicker and more insulating than training pants. Both of our hiking pants are waterproof and stretchy, equipped with practical pockets.

If the hike is to be carried out in the summer, we recommend the Fly DWR pants as they are a bit thinner in the fabric, which can be comfortable to wear when temperatures are high. This lightweight training pant is also easy to pack in the bag. On the other hand, Field Slacks are great to wear if you’re going on a more extensive and colder hike. This hiking pant is robust, comfortable, and has good stretch, making it perfect as a mountain pant.
